Serves 4
Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 large onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
1.
Season the chicken with paprika, salt, and pepper.
2.
In a large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned on both sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
3.
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add the sliced onion and cook until softened and lightly browned, about 5-7 minutes.
4.
Add the flour to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly. Gradually pour in the chicken broth, whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
5.
Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and spoon some of the gravy over the top. Serve hot and enjoy!
Storage Tip: Let the chicken cool completely before refrigerating or freezing. When reheating, add a splash of chicken broth to the pan and simmer until the sauce has thickened.
